Bus Charters

As long as you're in Las Vegas, why not travel in style? Chartering a bus, mini van or sedan is a great way to live the life of a celebrity during your stay. Many charter services are open 24-hours a day to book whenever it's convenient for you. You'll take the hassle out of travel when you book a charter vehicle -- no more waiting around for scheduled pick-ups from your hotel or the airport. Plus, you can look into companies that also offer tours as part of the package. (Hoover Dam trip, anyone?)

In fact, if you're traveling in large groups (more than 10 people), your best bet may be to hire one of these chartered buses. That way you can eliminate concerns about bus tickets and other transport fees and concentrate on the reason you came to Vegas in the first place: to have fun!

Ever Ride a CAT?

If you're looking for an easy way to get around the sights of Las Vegas look no further than the C.A.T.(The Citizens Area Transit). This service is county-owned and offers local bus routes through the city and even to ends of the Las Vegas Valley. If you're traveling to Las Vegas for the first time, CAT buses are ideal transportation options since they travel all day on routes up and down the strip between Mandalay Bay and Stratosphere. It's a great way to visit your favorite hotels and casinos.

Those looking for adventure beyond the Strip, take a CAT that travels to the Downtown Transportation Center. You'll likely need to change to a bus that's heading in your desired direction. Be warned: The buses can be crowded in the mornings and afternoons during rush hour, so be prepared to stand and ride.

Getting to Your Hotel from the Airport

Although there are several ways to get to your Las Vegas nv hotel from the airport, for a very reasonable price you can get pick-up and drop-off service from the airport to your hotel when you ride the Gray Line Las Vegas Airport Express Service. This bus specializes in quick transport between McCarren International Airport and the major hotels along the strip, as well as hotels downtown.

Simply purchase a round-trip ticket -- the strip hotel journeys are $10.50 and downtown hotel trips are $14.50. The buses leave the airport every 15 minutes from the Gray Line Airport Booth outside Door 10 of the baggage claim area. And when you're ready to return, all you have to do is ask your front desk clerk to assist you in specifying a pick-up time from your hotel.

It's Not All Casinos

Once you've had your fill of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip (assuming you ever do), don't miss an incredible part of your western journey. Take a chartered sightseeing bus tour all around the Las Vegas area. Tours can be purchased through several different bus lines. Gray Lines, Showtime Tours, and Triple J Tours are a few to look into, and they offer tours of such must-see spots as The Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and more.

Depending on the length and distance of the tour, you can expect to pay anywhere from just a few dollars to $100 per person for your
sightseeing tour.

A quick tip: You’ll probably want to spend much of your visit playing and lounging on the strip, so you may wish to schedule your tour at the end of your trip. End-of-trip tours give you a great chance to experience more of the environment before you have to leave.

Strip Trolleys

No, it's not what it sounds like. The Las Vegas Strip Trolleys are another incredible mode of transportation in Las Vegas. They are as reliable as the CAT buses, but just a bit more nostalgic. Their old-fashioned style brings to mind the trolleys of days past. Although they are slower than the buses, they do offer door-to-door stops to the major hotels and casinos on the Strip. In fact, it's due to this special convenient service that it takes a little longer to reach your destination. But who needs to rush? If you've got the time to spare, the Las Vegas Strip Trolleys are a great way to take a leisurely look at all that Vegas has to offer.
