Camping in Red Rock Canyon
Seasonal camping is available at Red Rock Canyon Campground from September through May. The campground is located about two miles from the Visitor Center. BBQ grills, picnic tables and pit toilets are available in the camping area. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to collect vegetation of any kind in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. However, firewood is for sale at the campground.

Red Rock Canyon Rules
Visitors to Red Rock Canyon Park must leave it the same way they found it. Here's what you need to know:

Driving: The 13 mile Loop Drive is one way only. You can not drive your car off the designated roads.

Biking: Bicycles are permitted on paved and unpaved roads, but not on the designated hiking trails.

Hiking and climbing: Stay on designated hiking trails. You must have the proper equipment and experience to climb on the sandstone, which is a soft, crumbly rock.

Fires: Campfires are only allowed in the BBQ grills at designated site. No ground fires are permitted.

Animals: Do not feed the wild burros or other animals in the area.

Horseback riding: Riding is permitted on two-tracks and dirt roads but not on paved roads.

Pets: All pets need to be leashed in picnic areas and on designated trails.

Trash: Glass containers are only allowed in the picnic areas. All trash must be carried out.

Things to Do at Red Rock Canyon
Red Rock Canyon features opportunities to view the wildlife, vegetation, geology and landscape of this beautiful desert area. The area features a 13-mile scenic drive, hiking trails, mountain bike trails and camping areas. The scenic drive is open daily from 6am to dusk. The visitor's center, book and gift store are open from 8am to 4:30pm. At the visitor's center, you can get Red Rock Canyon maps and other information.

Hiking Red Rock Canyon is very popular, particularly in the spring and fall months. Be sure to stay on the Red Rock Canyon trails so that you don't get lost.

Things to See at Red Rock Canyon

Where is Red Rock Canyon?
The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (RRCNCA) is just 17 miles west of Las Vegas, Nevada. The area consists of over 197,000 acres within the Mojave Desert.
