| Dining at MGM Grand |
|
MGM Grand has 18 restaurants--and that's not counting fast food--so sampling cuisine can be an extreme sport. In addition to 24-hour room service, there are plenty of appetizing and round-the-clock options. You can get your caffeine fix at one of the Starbucks coffee shops, located both on the hotel's Strip side and in the food court. However, fine dining is where the MGM Grand really shines; reserve a table with one of the celebrity chefs dominating the scene. Among the offerings:
Joël Robuchon - If your budget allows, indulge in the 16-course tasting menu by the man dubbed France's Chef of the Century. (Dinner only.)
Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak - The James Beard Award winner offers a steakhouse menu sourced from small family farms and farmers' markets, a wine list heavy on California varietals, and more than 200 bourbon and Scotch choices. (Dinner only.)
SEABLUE - Fellow James Beard Award winner Michael Mina highlights meat and seafood prepared on a wood-fired grill, and offers an ethereal blue-lit dining room with water cascading down one wall. (Dinner only.)
Wolfgang Puck - Puck's California cuisine includes wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, and burgers; the expansive late-night menu is available till 6 AM. (Lunch and dinner.)
Emeril's - Emeril Lagasse rounds out the list of big-name chefs, serving trademark Creole- and Cajun-inspired plates like gumbo and po' boys. Save room for banana cream pie drizzled with caramel. (Lunch and dinner.)

| A short guide to The Strip |
|
Glittering, larger-than-life gambling palaces dominate Las Vegas Boulevard South, better known as The Strip. Here, hotels are destinations unto themselves. Within a three-mile stretch, visitors can see the New York City skyline, the Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, imperial Rome, a dancing fountain, and an exploding volcano. A monorail links several hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

| Things to do |
|
For a true Vegas spectacle, check out Cirque du Soleil's blockbuster KÀ, which combines martial arts, puppetry, pyrotechnics, and--of course--acrobatics. For adult-oriented entertainment, visit MGM Grand's Crazy Horse Paris cabaret, imported from France and featuring a classically trained--and partially clad--dance troupe of 12 women.
With almost 17,000 seats, the Grand Garden Arena hosts boxing matches and other sporting events, as well as headlining musicians and bands like the Rolling Stones, U2, and Madonna. The intimate, 740-seat Hollywood Theatre lets you get a little more up-close and personal with performers like David Copperfield and Howie Mandel.
With MGM's 8 lounges and nightclubs, the party doesn't have to end when the show is over. There's Studio 54, a re-creation of New York's hedonistic hotspot from the '70s, or Tabú Ultra Lounge, an ultra-modern nightclub where dancers alter projected images with their hand movements. For an intimate end to the evening, enjoy a nightcap in the secluded West Wing.
Schedules and availability are subject to change without notice; for more information on current shows, contact the hotel at the number listed on the reservation confirmation received after booking via this web site.

| Overview |
Located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino bills itself as "Maximum Vegas," and they're not kidding. From the 7-acre pool complex to the reimagined Studio 54, this 4-star property is built to give you a bigger-than-life Las Vegas experience. Each day, you can lounge beside a different pool--the MGM Grand has 5--and drift down the lazy river. Get into the game in the massive casino on the building's Strip side, and try your hand at blackjack, craps, roulette, or Casino War. When night falls, catch a real Vegas show, like Cirque du Soleil's KÀ, Crazy Horse Paris cabaret, or David Copperfield at the Hollywood Theatre. The parties last all hours at 8 bars and nightclubs, including ultra-hot Tabú Ultra Lounge. When you've worked up an appetite, sample the fine-dining restaurants, where celebrity chefs from Tom Colicchio to Wolfgang Puck hold court. High-rolling foodies can invest in dinner at Joël Robuchon's first U.S. outlet, awarded 3 Michelin stars. After a day (and night) of play, retire to your room to recharge in style. Inspired by classic Hollywood, Grand Tower rooms feature Art Deco design and framed vintage photos of MGM stars, while quiet West Wing rooms offer easy access to The Strip and sleek modern design. 675-foot Bungalows let you spread out in style with extended living areas and huge bathrooms. And at nearly 700 square feet, Celebrity Suites offer extended living and dining areas, plus Italian marble jetted tubs in the oversized bathrooms. All rooms offer wireless and wired high-speed Internet access (included in the resort fee). Self-parking is free at the MGM Grand, and a convenient monorail stop right on site means you can easily venture out on the town. But when it's all right here, really, why bother?
