The old sections are in very bad condition. Make sure your room is the the area that has been renovated. Everything else is great.

I was at the hotel for CES, so I knew that i wouldn't be in my room at all. I stayed at the MGM mainly for the convenience in getting to the Convention Center. The MGM is the first stop on the monorail, meaning that you are pretty much guaranteed a seat and the monorail will not pass your hotel if too full. Let's start with the good. The MGM has great  restaurants, including one of my favorites, Wolfgang Puck's Grill which is conveniently open late at night. Their tuna tartare and pizzas are great. There are plenty of even more upscale options available at the MGM. The casino is also a nice place to gamble with plenty of tables and a good variety of minimum bets available. The sports book at the MGM is very comfortable and welcoming. However, as many people note, the MGM is massive and it can take a good 10-15 minutes to walk through the hotel to the cab line, depending on where you room is located. One benefit of the MGM is that you can check-in at a special MGM desk at the airport in baggage claim. Having said that, i ended up waiting about 20 minutes for the staff to check in a group tour. The staff was clearly unprepared for this and given that this was the day prior to CES opening you would have expected better staffing options. So here's the negative, but with a caveat. The rooms in the West Wing (where i was placed) sucked. The television was an old CRT (not a flat screen) that barely got a picture. Again, not a huge deal since i wasn't in the room much, but yet still reflective of the disrepair of the room. I do want to mention that in the lobby of the MGM they show off a model room that details the renovation they are doing over the next year. I think this will go a long way in fixing some of the issues, but against new hotels, such as Aria & the Cosmopolitan, it will take more than the room remodeling to get to be the "buzzed" about hotel in Vegas. All in all, the MGM is a decent choice, but if you are looking for a vacation resort or a place to be p

This hotel was fantastic, truly upscale with all the amenities! It was our first stay in Las Vegas and we were in perfect position to see the big lights of the strip. Remember to bring comfortable walking shoes, because the hotel is larger than life and offers shopping, restaurants, etc...lol we visited about every hotel on the strip to take pictures  and touring, and I can say my wife and I were extremely satisfied and so happy we chose the MGM GRAND!

Esta era la segunda ocasión en la que me alojaba en este hotel. Si bien la habitación era más pequeña,en esta segunda visita al MGM Grand, sigue siendo una habitación igualmente cómoda y bien equipada. La atención y el servicio muy buenos.

Was not happy I had to pay a manditory fee per night for wifi, cardio room, and other stuff. I wasnt there on business so I didn't need the wifi and didn't go there to go to the gym I do that at home when I'm not on vacation. It should be optional or at least include that in the fee when u book the room online. Instead of suprising me with this fee  when I'm checking in and don't have a choice because I can't turn around and go home now that I'm already there.

The people were really nice. I made a special request one night and they immediately got it done. Very friendly. Room was small, but nice and clean. Buffet was good. Hotel located at one far end of the strip, but I knew that when I booked it. I would stay there again.

When we first arrived, we were assigned a room in the North Tower. Our room there was very small, dark and dreary, not the kind of room you would expect to be assigned to in Las Vegas, especially at the MGM Grand. After complaining to management that this room was unacceptable, they said there were no more rooms available. We ended up at the Concierge's  office, and were subsequently assigned a room which was very bright, pleasant and pretty.
