| Price was pretty cheap for a Friday rate. Set right at where the strip starts getting good. If you have alot of bags you should valet or atleast drop your stuff at the front with someone since its a bit of a walk from the garage to the hotel check in itself. Resort fee is cheaper than most other places! Overall it was a good experience for us. |

| I was very dissappointed with this hotel, I am trying to stay at every hotel at least once, and this hotel did not measure up. There are no variety of dining on site. the room service is limited to what 5 or 6 items significantly over priced. the room ameneties was just awful, as in nonexistant. Never will stay again. only plus if one at all the Tatoo place is open 24 hours. |

| Okay so this hotel isn't as shmancy as it once may have been... The room was like a more spacious version of an older Best Western or Days Inn I've stayed at in the past. And that's fine, considering the price I payed for the room per night during a time when the NAB Show (A HUGE convention). Their were some interesting choices as far as to what was maintained to what level, but in the end the room was clean and actually smelled nice, the lock worked, it wasn't in an area that made me afraid to walk and the hotel has a monorail station attached to it. Perfect for going to and from the Convention Center. (I not only saved a ton on the room rate but also on ground transportation since I didn't need to rent a car or take a cab very often.) |

| I didn't know when I made my reservations that the Sahara is closing indefinitely in mid-May. The hotel feels like it's getting ready to close: All of the public toilets on the casino level are closed, so that they don't have to maintain them. The "World of NASCAR" theme park is closed, except for the bar and restaurant. Some of the furniture in my room was literally falling apart. The towels, sheets and toiletries were the cheapest, lowest quality they could buy. You could fire a cannon in the casino (in several directions) and not hit anyone.
On the other hand, the staff was very friendly and helpful--far better than you'd expect from employees who are likely to be looking for work in a month. The Sahara is right on the monorail, which is the best way to get around the Strip from the Sahara in the south to the MGM Grand in the north. If you're going for a convention, it's two monorail stops away from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
All that said, I wouldn't recommend staying there. |

| I left the Sahara on April 14th. In 31 days the hotel will shut down. The hotel has been sold to an investment company will close it for 2 years and then turn it into a boutique hotel. We will see. As I stayed there I saw show posters and inquired about seeing a show. I was told all shows stopped a month ago. I guess they don't want to scare anyone off. The coffee shop had the service urgency of an old age home. The food was OK once you finally got seated. The security is performed by rent-a-cops since the security staff was let go. It is a bit spartan, but for my purposes it was cheap and Monorail close to most everything I needed. |
