She sang the theme song for Titanic, the most popular film in history, and entertained three presidents with her music... In January 2012, Celine Dion hardly misses a day performing in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace; find her there January 3-18, and 20-22. She began a 3-year contract with Caesars Palace in March of 2011, so you can still catch the show if you visit after January.
Other Las Vegas events happening during January and February include Toy Story 3 on Ice, Daniel Tosh and the Globetrotters. Upcoming events in Las Vegas are always a surprise; there is never a dull day in Sin City.
During January you can enjoy Celine Dion or Toy Story 3 on Ice. If you enjoy the ice show, recurring several times daily from January 12-15, be sure to brush up on your main characters; you probably didn’t know Woody could do a triple axel. And though it is no surprise that Buzz Lightyear could fall with style, you might not have known he could fall and sprain his ankle. No, Buzz does not fall (not on purpose, at least) but shows on ice do add a new dimension to film classics.
On February 3rd and 4th, the funny Daniel Tosh comes to the Terry Fator Theatre at the Mirage Hotel to entertain. His comedy is often dirty and ludicrous, but it is highly sought after. His style is best described as aimed at one person. He claimed during one show that his goal was to narrow each joke until it appealed to just one guest in attendance. Often, everyone is rolling in laughter. Tosh might be at his best in Sin City!
For cleaner, more wholesome entertainment, the Harlem Globetrotters come through Vegas on February 15th. Though the crew is always revolving, the sometimes humorous, sometimes breathtaking antics of this basketball team always come through. The Globetrotters specialize in trick plays, or “hotdog” basketball. First-time viewers will enjoy the simple visual antics of a ball on a wire and the gymnastics of each stunt. Seasoned fans can see them at the Orleans Arena with a new lineup of tricks, passes, shots and dribbles that are as fun as ever to watch. Through January and February, the entertainment promised by Las Vegas events is rich!
