Come February, stressed-out college students’ thoughts start turning toward sun and sand in southern climes. If all you really want is a good pool, a good time, and good value for your money, head for Vegas instead. Spring break in Las Vegas means world-class entertainment, amazing DJs, round-the-clock activities, and the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
Stay, Sun, Swim
It’s probably not a surprise that the best pools in Las Vegas are attached to the best hotels. It’s also a good bet the average student’s budget won’t stretch that far. Sharing a room with a few friends (keep in mind some hotels won’t let you cram a dozen bodies into one room) will be easier on your wallet. Look for spring break special packages that will stretch your dollar even further—i4vegas is your one-stop shop for all discount Vegas hotels.
The following hotels generally have the best spring break deals, and come with great pools:
The Tropicana – Swim-up blackjack, location in the heart of the south strip, and surrounded by cheap food options.
Aria Las Vegas – Come on in; the water, the cabanas, and the human eye candy is fine.
MGM Grand – It’s all party, all the time at the MGM Grand. The Farmer’s Market offers good food at budget-friendly prices.
Speaking of food…
You’ll want to take some time to eat as you dash between parties.
Pizza – Word has it that D.O.C.G. at the Cosmopolitan has the best pizza, and it’s not expensive. Also try Pizzeria Francesco’s at Treasure Island.
Burgers, beer and wings – KGB at Harrah’s won’t clean out your wallet, and hey, you may even clean house at the low-limit tables. Also check out Stripburger at the Fashion Show Mall.
Food Courts – look to the hotel food courts, like the one at the Venetian, for affordable options.
Breakfast buffets – Whatever you do, don’t skip breakfast or you’ll run out of gas before midday. Almost every hotel offers a breakfast buffet; check around the web for the cheapest options.
Remember, you can always split portions with a friend. Just don’t forget to tip the wait staff a little extra – they’re still serving two people!
